I have the future plans of utilizing my engineering skills, cultural competence and business skills to further my career in the building industry. Another goal is to continue volunteering with the goal of creating positive change in the community. I would also like to be a role model for young women throughout the world to help them thrive in their professional goals. Lastly, my major goal is to directly assist in the development of a better world for the next generation.
The part time Portland State MBA program has been excellent for me because it allows me to continue with my engineering profession while at the same time progressing my business knowledge base. I have been very pleased with the location of the school due to the numerous methods of public transportation available. The cohort system has been a great aspect due to the feeling of support and motivation to encourage each other to be their best. The instructors have been very attentive and informative. PSU also has a support system for part time students including Live Class Video for individuals who might have to miss class due to work conflicts. Lastly, I have been enjoying the ability to directly and immediately apply lessons learned from my classes to my workplace.
Speaking with past alumni or current students to discuss and learn from them regarding their experience in the program I would recommend as the first step. It is also important to realize that one of the most crucial aspects of a program is how it suits one's individual needs. Also, especially when considering a business program having a diverse cohort is extremely important and will lead to a more valuable learning experience.
I was born, raised and attended undergraduate education in Bangkok, Thailand. I found my passion in building design when studying abroad in Lommel, Belgium during high school. I received my bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, I'm working as a structural engineer at a consulting engineering firm. I'm a member of a team that designs many buildings all around Portland including Karl Miller Center, Legacy Unity Center and OHSU Knight Cancer Research Building.
